V&A Museum of Design Dundee is the first ever dedicated design museum in Scotland and the only other V&A museum anywhere in the world outside London. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following an international competition that received over 120 entries, Japanese architects Kengo Kuma & associates \u2013 who also designed the Tokyo 2020 Olympic stadium \u2013 were given the go ahead to implement their outstanding design in Dundee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opened in 2018, the three-storey museum is an impressive 8,000m\u00b2 building, with 1,650m\u00b2 of gallery space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very proud that The Expanded Metal Company was able to supply a range of expanded metal mesh products to a leading contractor on the project: these were used in the construction of several striking interior features at V&A Museum of Design Dundee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum, which cost \u00a380.11 million to design, construct and fit-out, had more than 800,000 visitors in its first year and contributed \u00a375 million to the Scottish economy. Visitors can access exhibition galleries focusing on historical and important objects from the V&A and collections across Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V&A Dundee hosts international touring exhibitions and has made Dundee an international centre of design and the only location in the UK outside London to receive these globally significant exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is at the heart of a \u00a31 billion waterfront transformation, an ambitious 30-year project driving Dundee\u2019s future growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
