Hebburn Central is a major community hub in South Tyneside, bringing together a library, swimming pool, gym, dance studios and community spaces under one roof.

Opened in 2015 as part of the wider regeneration of Hebburn town centre, the award-winning building was designed to reflect the area’s strong industrial and shipbuilding heritage through its striking steel façade and modern architectural detailing.

Expanded metal mesh from The Expanded Metal Company was used within the project, helping contribute to the building’s distinctive appearance and contemporary industrial character
