The Expanded Metal Company is a leading manufacturer of expanded metal mesh, operating from Hartlepool, North East England. We combine engineering expertise with a focus on design, supplying high quality expanded metal solutions for architectural, industrial and security applications. Our products are widely used in façades, cladding, screening and interior features, as well as filtration, automotive and general engineering.

Alongside our core mesh production, we support architectural projects with tailored fabrication. This includes framing, folding, bending and forming panels to suit specific designs and installation requirements.

We also offer a range of finishes to enhance both performance and appearance. Options such as anodising and polyester powder coating allow our mesh to integrate seamlessly into modern architectural schemes.

In 2023, we became part of the Meiser Group, a global leader in metal solutions. This strengthens our manufacturing capability and extends our reach across international markets.

ArchitEx is our dedicated architectural mesh range, developed for façades, cladding and screening applications. It brings together a curated selection of expanded metal patterns, designed to offer both visual impact and practical performance.

The range focuses on clean, modern aesthetics with strong through-vision, light control and durability. Primarily available in aluminium, ArchitEx meshes can be supplied in a variety of finishes and as fully fabricated panels, ready for installation.

Each pattern has been carefully considered to support architects and designers in creating distinctive, high-performing building envelopes.

We are also home to ExMesh Engineering, specialising in precision metal fabrication and security systems, with advanced capabilities including laser cutting and CNC press braking.
