Upper Barrakka Lift, Valletta, Malta

The iconic Upper Barrakka Lift connects Valletta’s waterfront with the historic Upper Barrakka Gardens, transporting visitors over 58 metres in just under 25 seconds. Originally opened in 1905 and redeveloped in 2012, the lift has become an important part of the city’s transport network, helping thousands of passengers move between the harbour and Valletta each day.

Our expanded metal mesh was used within the structure, supporting both the modern architectural appearance and practical performance of this well-known Maltese landmark.
